Why am I rewarded for having lots of questions and simply giving stars? If I actually cared about the stars and was also a large contributer to solutions, then I would be annoyed that someone who simply asks questions is nearly rewarded as much as someone who solves them.

Note that the points given to someone who take the time to mark a message for you is 5 times less than a solution. We think that given 2 points for the time taken to do such a task is a good recognition. This also encourages members to do it. Note also that someone who do that, only, will never be on top as those who receive solutions are moving much faster.

Note also that the Points system is, mostly, not about points but about the recognition of valuable messages to the community. Yes, it's named Points but that's about it. Yes, we have standings and that's fun for those who like it. But, keep in mind that the main and initial purpose of it is to identify valuable messages to the community. Thus, when you go in Search, you can get them out. You can also see them when viewing maps, etc.

If you are a large contributors to solutions, and if you feel that you do not have your place where it should be, assuming you are giving a lot of importance to the standings, then, just force the messages to be marked as a solution to the thread, assuming the creator of the thread didn't do it. I don't know what more I can say about it. If you don't want to bother about it, then, do nothing. If you care about it, and if you want yours points, then, the options are there.
