If the reply direct to the answer, it must be rewarded for the contribution.
You don't have to always put the code in the reply. ;-)

The real drawback in the point system IMO is that not everybody have jump on it. And many, like me, will never click on the "mark this message as the answer". Even if you answer a lot of questions, if the requesters do not mark the messages, you will never be in the top 10 list. But BTW i dont care to be on it! :-)
