I personally use VFP7, but we still have apps here that run under FoxBase! Our 98 machines have an environment variable "STATION". I haven't dug around enough to find out where this is getting set, but it contains almost the same info"
"USERNAME" = john.herring
"STATION" = john_herring

Maybe you can get lucky?
