Wow, thanks Mike, that was a wonderful explanation of Web Services. I think I've got it now...but I have more questions... can you return only one value from a web class, or can you also return cursors? or should I convert my cursors with cursortoxml()? And would the correct technique for inserting a record into a SQL Server table be to call the appropriate web service, passing the fields to insert as parameters, and have the web service call the stored procedure for inserting the record? Or is there a better way to call my stored procs from ASP?

I'm asking these questions because I'm a longtime VFP programmer with minimal ASP/XML experience. I'm trying to develop a commercial web site, and I'd like to leverage my VFP knowledge by coding as much as appropriate in VFP.
