Wow, their web site (Crystal Decisions) is of NO help whatsoever in the matter. However, there is NO WAY the licensing cost is $1000 per user for the web based reporting. Why? Well, you can get FIVE licenses in each Developer's Edition copy, which has a MSRP of $619. So who would pay $1000 per user when you can get five users for $619?

>As I understand it, we get 5 concurrent users when we purchase Crystal Reports Developer Edition. If we have more than 5 concurrent users, we have to buy additional licenses. I've searched around the internet and found people talking about costs such as $1000 per user, or $11,000 per 5 users or $30,000 for over 50 users.

I understand that Crystal Reports software enforces the license - would this apply if I'm accessing it via a COM object as above ? Is this approach feasible - does Crystal Reports lend itself to this type of unattended automation ?

>We are obviously very keen to stay legal on this, so I don't want to create a COM solution if this violates the license agreement.
