We rely on computers in the office. And while in the office, we stick to project completions. Well, it's not the fault of MS, it's the fault of our economy. :)))))

Jess --

I think all of us face those kinds of dilemmas, if not in access, in terms of time. The responsibilities to family, neighborhood and others really lessens the time available for continuing education even when one has equipment on which to do that.

It may sound trite, but I know this has worked for me. Discover in what ways you can learn and then find opportunities to do so. I happen to enjoy reading, and I learn about as efficiently through the written word as through any other means. That really works well with material on the web. It is absolutely amazing to me how much solid information is available now. 10 years ago, 99% of it was simply unavaiable unless you had access to a research library. So, that matches well for my style of learning.

What resources do you have available to you? I know that computer clubs in this country provided a lot of impetus to the micro computer early on. Is it possible for a club to make an investment in a system which could be shared by members?

I think I can understand the problems you face. I don't want to underestimate them. At the same time, I've experienced you online as an enthusiastic and intelligent presence. I think those qualities would serve anyone well in accomplishing the goals that you have.

Best wishes,

Jay
