As soon as I typed that message regarding the menu being disabled and sent it off, the rules on modal forms returned to me (sheesh! it's Friday afterall!). Well, that is a problem, because I need the menu, so that is why I changed the form to modeless during testing earlier. I will have to have the form be modeless to have the menu, so how could I get the RETURN .F. in the form's init method to actually stop the read events in the main.prg afterall? I tried adding the read event's in the form's init, but the form never displays and the form's object doesn't exist then. I have never put the read events in a form's init (actually, I didn't even know you could do that and I've been programming with VFP since the Foxbase days in 84--I typically forget a lot of capabilities that I don't use very often though!)

Any ideas?
Thanks!
