Microsoft does *not* have plans for VFP.NET, and many here (including myself) believe that is a good thing. VFP would lose its strengths under the CLR.
Also, to say that "microsoft would continue supporting the product" is an understatement. Development on the next version of VFP is underway, and MS is committed to go forward with VFP. Look for Steve Balmer about VFP video on MS website.
Also, look at "Summit, VFP, Disclosure, Musings" thread that has been going on for the last couple of days. This is discussed at length in that thread, and has been discussed many times in the past. Click on "Get all messages since yesterday icon" and poke around; you can't miss it :)
