A friend of mine with a degree in Marketing from U.C. Berkeley once told me, "It does not matter what you know. If you cannot sell it, it has no value"! To me the only important thing is to survive and I have done a good job of that so far. I would knock on wood if I were superstitious. If I were superstitious I would be in trouble – I see no wood in my work environment.
If a person can support his/her family by programming in dBaseII then so be it.
