Are you using the HTMLBody property of the mail message? For example:

oOutlook = createobject("outlook.application")
oitem = oOutlook.createitem(0)
oitem.recipients.add("somebody@somewhere.com")
oitem.HTMLBody = lcHTMLString  && put your HTML string here
