It's a bug that I can't live with. I'm using this feature in too many places to try a work around.
I guess I'll stick with VFP 6 for now. I wish I knew this before I put the bucks out for the upgrade. :(

Thanks to all for your responses.

>I'm sure it is a BUG. ASCII file layout should be as similar to graphic report layout as possible. After removing blank lines my page footer prints at the middle of the report page (dot matrix printer character type printout).
>(In VFP7 Beta 1 it worked as in VFP6). "Report Form ... ASCII" command is a very good idea. Despite laser and ink jet printers there are still dot matrix printers around. Using "Report Form ... ASCII" command I did not have to design separate text mode reports. Moreover viewing and searching ASCII file is quicker and more comfortable than using heavy VFP report previewer.

>BTW It seems to be first VFP7 bug - I did not see another bugs on forgotten VFP home page :)

>>>I just switched to VFP 7.0 from 6.0 SP3. I have a function that sends a report to a text file and then sends it email. VFP 7.0 removes all blank lines when sending it to the text file. My command is:
>>>
>>>_AsciiCols=150
>>>Report Form &cReport Next 1 To &cTempFile. ASCII
>>>
>>>Does anyone know why VFP7 is different and is there anything I can do about it?

>>>TIA
