In addition to the other replies be aware fof the following.

Some so called csv files are not separated using commas but with other characters - i have recently seen a lot of "pipe" delimeted "|"

For these use
Append from (filename) delimited with character "|"

Also with csv files you have to ensure that there are no quotes within the data - this can cause awful problems
