I figured it out. I had put my user/groups tables into a separate database on the server since I'm writing multiple apps. I mistakenly put the id table in this database as well. Once I put the table in the app database, everything works great. My parents insist they didn't drop me on my head when I was a tot; I tend to think otherwise. :)
