As they say, "Its the economy stupid". Not meant directly at you. But I was out of work for the entire summer. I saw "local candidates only" then. And it has only gotten worse. I became unemployeed at the beginning of June. Spent June applying locally, then expanded my search nationwide in July. Received a grand total of zero return calls from anyone outside of Los Angeles. And this was applying for jobs where "local" wasn't specified.

>Yup. Been out to a lot of different search sites but most are for perm positions. No contracts. Of those that are contracts, they only want local candidates. This has been happening for the past several weeks. Almost seems like a conspiracy (sp?) on the part of brokers. Really weird that all of a sudden everyone wants local candidates only.
