One of the things I am using this for is setting a path to where some data files are located and the user is wanting to move away from mapped drives altogether. (When they have a drive mapped, the standard GETDIR() works fine for setting the path, since the mapped drive letter shows up in the drive selection box.) I tried using the enhanced GETDIR() from the download section here, but on Win98 machines, it will start you at the My Computer level and not allow you to transverse up one level to access Desktop, Network Neighborhood, etc. (In other words, the enhanched GETDIR() works fine on Win2K and WinME, but on Win98, it shows My Computer to be the upper most level.)

I hope Ed or George can help you more on this problem. I can not even try it on my work Windows 95 machine, since I don't have Shell installed (George provided an info how to install it, but it seems like too many hassles). At home I have Windows 98, but it's a local computer...

May be somebody else can experiment on Windows 98. It could be difference in Shell version too...
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
