Patrick;

The market in November 1994 was tough (impossible is a closer description). The Sacramento, San Francisco and San Jose FoxPro User Groups and all my contacts told me the same story, "No one is hiring so do not look for a job until February"! My wife, son and daughter as well as myself found it hard to wait. We had $52 to our name and I had been looking everywhere for a programming job. I ended up with at least one interview a day during the Thanksgiving week except for Turkey Day. I got a great consulting job from one of the interviews and made $10,000 a month on a three month contract. They kept me for nine months and called me back two more times.

If I followed everyone’s advice I do not know what would have happened. Waiting was not an option. You have to "make something happen". Stick to it and you will succeed!

My goal for the last 11 years has been to survive. So far so good. I wish you the best.

Tom
