Mike,

>>Personally, until the human heart changes...

>I think you meant to say "until everyone becomes a good little Christian"...

I do indeed wish everyone would become one. That is true. That, of course, will sadly never happen and I certainly cannot force anyone to so choose. Perhaps I may be able to influence a few folks. Perhaps not.

That's really no different than you wishing everyone would belive the way you do and quit hassleing you over all this other stuff, now is it? Or that an adherant to Islam would like to see the entire world believe as they do. They do, you know and some even strap explosives to themselves and detonate themselves as a means of their achieving their goals which is far more committment than I've seen from most Christians I know. <g>

It's really not all that bad Mike. You should try it and you'd find that God's love is the best high possible. It's far better than any drug I ever took, that's for sure.. Think about it a little.. What's so bad about having a personal love-based relationship with the creator of the universe? I don't understand why people wouldn't line up around the block for this...

I had an older brother who was a junkie and for all that I know somewhere around 1967 he had his brains blown out because he used the drugs he was supposed to sell rather than selling them. That's the story I've heard and I haven't seen Larry since then so I suppose there's an element of truth in all of it. I've seen the effects of drugs up close and personal, not to mention my own life. So please don't think I'm just trying to talk about something I have no knowledge of. I've seen the pain it causes...

>"If you're not a moral person, you're gonna.. um, ah... go to a firey place.... for eternity! Yeah.. thats the ticket!" No thanks.

Nope.. That's not how it goes at all. I don't have to be a moral person to be a Christian. I want to be one only as a result of my relationship with God. My morality stinks like an old rotten corpse in God's eyes insofar as making me any better than any single other human being on the planet.... If God's approval depended on me I'd be in deep trouble. <g> Fortunately God is far more gracious than that.. < S >

I suppose I should apologize to you for whomever you got that goofy understanding of Christianity from. If you watch any of the televangelists I can see why tou'd think the way you do. Who in the world would want hair like that??? <g>

Actually, Mike, "eternal life" is NOT a quantity of life; it's a quality of life.
Best,
