>No problem, Patric. I think I may have found the problem under Win98 (at least Win98SE). If I passed a root folder to the object, the only things I could see were the folders below it. No Desktop, etc. However, when I eliminated that parameter (which is optional), I saw the desktop, nethood, etc.

I have tried leaving off the starting folder as well and it will still just dump me at the 'My Computer' level with no ability to transverse upwards.

Are you using the same code (enhanced GetDir() from the UT) that Ed submitted?

I'm running this on Win98 (ver 4.10.1998), so maybe there are some differences effecting it from that to Win98SE. I appreciate the info, and if you can duplicate the problem on a Win98 box, let me know. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY Win98 machine I have, so I have no way of double-checking it. If you think of anything, please let me know. It's not a deal-killer, but it would be great if I could get this working in all versions (Win98 and up).
