While indexing /Packing a big size DBF under VFP 6.0, I notice that VFP 6.0 create .TMP files in the same directory as the DBF and one of these .TMP can grow to a size close to DBF.
For example:
for a DBF with 135Mg and CDX of 112Mg, the size of the .TMP file grew to 88MG.
for another DBF with 125Mg and CDX of 35 Mg, the size of the .TMP file grew to 78 Mg.
for another DBF with 75Mg and CDX of 7 Mg, the size of the .TMP file grew to 44 Mg.
I just want to know what is the ratio of growth of these .TMP files so I can tell my clients how much free disk space they need to have.
Thanks for your quick reply.
