Unless they have changed the behavior of this switch since 6.0, I would be very careful about implemnting it. If you use the lockscreen property of your screens at all it will cause some severe problems. If you never use lockscreen then you should be ok. Make sure to read the readme file about what BITMAP=OFF can cause (there are at least in 6.0 some compatibility issues).
