Barcoded input is fairly trivial; you need to purchase a wedge-style device appropriate to your application, which, depending on type and capabilities, should run in the US$200-5000 range. A wedge-style device emulates keyboarded input, so VFP will accept input from the scanner in a standard textbox or editbox control. You may need to add code for decoding the barcoded input to remove delimiters anddropping trailing checksum characters added for error-detection andformatting.

I am not a big fan of touch screens, in that they limt the user's sontrol of the display. The touchscreen's resolution is relatively coarse when compared to using a mouse, trackball or other conventional pointer devices, and the touchscreen devices are expensive. The are also subject to smudgingand tend to get sticky and dirty constantly.
