> Currently, all systems on the sites I'm involved with have Win2K Pro and XP Pro running on all internal stations, and use MetaFrame XP and ICA or the Win2KAS TS with WTS Advanced client sessions for remote access, and none of the boxes here have Win9x currently running. I'll try to run an image backup of the spare XP box and deploy the last Win98SE image backup during the weekend to test this.

Hi Ed,

I'd appreciate that. As a matter of being precise, I thought I'd mention a few of the specifics and a basic recap of the problem, since this thread's title is not really accurate.

  • I'm using the enhanced GETDIR() routine which I downloaded from the UT.

  • When I run that routine on our Win2K Pro and WinME machines, all is well and good.

  • When I run it on a Win98 machine (NOT SE), it works fine, but does not allow you to go above the 'My Computer' level. (This is true regardless of the flags value and regardless of whether or not you pass in a starting folder.)

  • George tested on a Win98SE machine and found that it worked fine (allowed you to see the desktop, network neighborhood, etc) as long as you left off the starting folder. I don't have Win98SE, so I can't test in that OS.

  • The Win98 machine I am running it on has IE 6 installed on it (I just downloaded and installed that in a vain attempt to see if that was the problem.)

  • The GETDIR() routine is included in an application written and compiled in VFP6 (SP5) and distributed with Visual Studio Installer

  • Sorry for the lengthy revisitation, but I wanted to make sure I supplied you with as much pertinent information as possible.

    Thanks,
