Hi!

With some effort it is possible, but why doing editing in bounds of the grid?

You can put a control over the grid and position it exactly the same way as a cell in the grid when it gets a focus. So when user edit, editing is really in your control, not in the grid cell. But, of course, its depended on the expression you use. If it is just a memo field and you use expression to display memo field content in the grid - better put an edit box as a control in the column, so you will have both displaying and editing without any expressions.

Common practice also is to put controls under or above the grid that will be used for editing. Grid is used for searching/navigating records. So user select a record and edit values in controls instead of editing in the grid...

HTH.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
