>New pic, eh? I see my sometimes partner-in-crime Ed has, as usual, filled you in with some possibilities. If there's anyone here who can figure out the problem, it's the good Doctor.

One suggestion, though it might be futile, would be to click the "Windows Update" option on the start menu. However, this isn't even close to be "scientific" and, as a result is just a shot in the dark.

Hi George,

The old picture I had on here had been the same since the UT started using pictures, so I thought it was time for a change. (I'm much better looking than I used to be! Well, at least I'm a few pounds heavier than I used to be!) lol

I'll check into the Windows Update as a possibility. I did download and install IE 6, thinking maybe that would include an updated dll, but it didn't.

I think Ed is going to try playing around with a 98 box to see what he can come up with. In the meantime, I'm using the standard GETDIR(), even though it doesn't allow a UNC. However, I now allow the users to hand enter the UNC. (Before, I would force them to choose the data directory, rather than entering it.) If they choose to hand enter a UNC path, I then check to see if one of the main file exists there. If it does, I allow the path change, and if not, I don't.

But it would be nice, at least for curiosity's sake, to figure out what's happening.

Let me know if you stumble across anything, and I'll let you know if the Windows Update makes any changes.

Thanks,
