When did the error occur ? Check with debugger. See is there any code in the Checkbox event, like valid, when.. ?
Is the checkbox baseclass CHECKBOX ?
I missed something. If the Checkbox.controlsource is linked to a field there is no need set the initial value.
Moreover, I'm still using VFP6, you too ?

>Thanks - that did it. I could build it using the builder, but when I tried to add it manually it would give me the data type error. Evidently the builder set the initial value property.
