Thanks for getting back to me with this info. I finally figured out to remove the controlsource. I now use 1 line of code in the valid event to populate it. I also switched to using the cursor directly as the rowsource. By subclassing the control I was able to put extra properties for holding the display value. Then reset it in the refresh. It’s not elegant, but works. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain things in detail.
