I believe you answered this later in your reply -- lack of new material and the move to .Net. I think they served themselves well when they had article series that spanned multiple issues. The Palm article that Juan Calcagno mentioned elswhere in this thread would be a very good start.

Sounds like a meeting of the FPA minds is called for in order to determine their direction.

>Ah...if it is to be, it must begin with me. The fact is, most folks won't commit the time. It is not a lack of ability. Many folks have the ability - but most won't sacrafice the time. The fact is, the folks that have sacraficed the time in the past are exploring and researching new areas.

Hell, as a newly elected Co-chair for Programs for our UG, I am having enough trouble trying to get speakers for our monthly meetings. I am developing material for myself in case the speaker has to be me. < g >

>The well for VFP-only material quite frankley, is pretty dry. Yes, there are some new topics re: web services. IMO, the ripe area will be VFP/VS .Net topics. Whether FPA would publish these or not, I don't know. Personally, if I had an article to do in this area, I would pitch it to Code. Not because my bud Rod is the editor. Rather, as a magazine and a company, they are more competent to handle these sort of topics.

CoDe is in excellent management hands with Dave and Rod, and because of CoDe's multi-threaded structure, CoDe is in a better position than FPA with respect to article flexibility.

>That is rubbish. While I don't think much of the magazine, their policies are in line with everybody elses. If I had to pick a magazine to support - it would be Code because it "bridges the gap" and for the reasons I outlined above...

As someone elso pointed out, one of the rumblings was lack of response from FPA. But otherwise, I do agree here as well.
