>Sure, but in that case please explain to me and unless I am required to change what I believe I will try to do everything in my power to help.

You're basically OK, it's when you start talking that this or that can't exist without belief. People without beliefs of the sort may feel you're somehow excluding them. Like when you insist that there's a space for a spiritual content in each person, and that it can't be empty, therefore everyone must believe in something, be it their own imperfect selves. Mike has put it very eloquently "a hole I don't have", and I have also said the space is not empty, except it's not filled with what you think.

>>Your readiness to say this is what makes you an exception :)

>Well, that's sad. Perhaps you may be confusing people who call themselves Christian with what is actually Christianity as taught in the New Testament? There's a lot of that around.

Been there - in early 70s I was already wearing a beard and was implicitly classified as the bad guy, because in most of the movies the bearded guys were the bad guys. I did my best to fight the image - and you obviously do yours - but it's sort of hard to distinguish the "so-called" ones and "the real" ones. Specially when they all claim they are the real ones.

>>But then why did god(s?) punish them by making them a church? (OK this is a trick question)
>
>Men made the churches, not God. As defined in the New Testament the "Church" is an organism, not an organization.

And yet Jesus had apostles - and that's already an organization. A simple one, just a guru and disciples, but organized. From the beginning.

>The writings of the late Dr. Francis Schaeffer cover all of this. Recommended reading...

Any reading I have time for now is either SF (because it keeps my attention) or VFP - "to learn, to learn, to learn - said Lenin, damn him, why wasn't it Stalin so it wouldn't hold now".

>The trouble people get into here is that they want to lower their expectations of mankind because man shares some phtsical traits with animals.

IOW, the human's animality is not taken as "lives, breathes, has kidneys lungs and feels hunger, thirst, heat and sex appeal just like any other mammal, plus some other stuff that make him different", it's taken as a pretext to justify the rat race, rape, existence of armies and other ugly stuff.
