The problem could be that you have no wait time specified for the Inkey() function. If you check the help file you will note that INKEY() grabs the first keystroke or mouseclick from the buffer.

If you want the user to press a key, add a wait time (0 = wait indefinitely) or use either an ON KEY LABEL or the LASTKEY() function. What are you actually trying to do?
