Dear Frank Donato,

I have the same problems (my boss' task) and I have no additional money, so I had to use only "free" technologies (sorry that I can't buy West -Wind stuff):

Novell server (with our firm's database) -> and some branches in the wide are.
I solved this task about 60 %, I gave our branches access to our database (for viewing they part information):

Novell->NW gate for Windows 2000 -> IIS5.0 -> ASP -> ADO

Customers use Browser for making requests and viewing information.

But now I am developing application where my customers can change information at the Novell server remotely using they computers and VFP6.0 application.
I use for that - ADO (RDS) it is only two big problems - I have to use a little bit another technique for programming (requests with parameters) - because it all working very slowly in Russia - we have not good communication lines. Another problem - security. We have to very strictly configuration RDS (and I find information about it only at the Wiki's web site).

So, it is a very complicated deal and may be my boss will say to me "thank you". In Russia we have no traditions to pay money for good programs.

>Im using the internet to connect. The client is VFP not html. I don't know why people keep suggesting sql there is no advantage in doing this. It doesn't have anything to offer over VFP. Either way the backend has to stay in VFP, there is already another app in VFP that will be sharing the data.
