As it is, cable connections allows a good speed on download but usually modem speed on upload. Here, I just uploaded the same file I usually upload in Montreal at a T1 speed. That is not a commercial line. It's the usual line home users are using here. It's just amazing! For 40.00$ a month, you download at 3.5 mbps and upload at about 1.5. Anyone else found something like that elsewhere?

Damn Australia's lack of telecommunications.
The best we can get (outside of Sydney and Melbourne) is ADSL, whcih at its best is a 1.5m down 512k up. And that costs somewhat more then what you have got.
But even ADSL is somewhat restricted to 'city' areas, and for those of us that live in the sticks.. all of 30 mins from the centre of a city, were stuck with good ol' dialup.
