This all can be solved by heaving some more containers and possibly some shapes in order to have the proper shades etc.; in the end you will have created complete classes for your own controls with any behaviour you want. Think of "Offic-97" look (buttons popping up at MouseOver etc.) and it is really easy to create. BTW note that there are some additional difficulties in having controls look like "disabled" when they are. Having different images for that doesn't feel good, but it can be solved with (tip !) Drawmode=12 and FillColor=RGB(127,127,127). Note that you are dependend on the number of colours the monitor works in, and that too few colours won't give "the" result.

However, it may not be the way to go for;
IMO it is rather stupid that these kind of things are "not allowed" ...
