Both of them do different things. In MM, it checks to see if the VFP app is running in COM mode. In WC, it lets you check to see if an ActiveX control is registered. Honestly, I'm way more likely to want the WC functionality instead of the MM one. So, would it be possible to rename the MM in a future version? Maybe something like: IsVFPCOMObject? Or whatever. I keep running into this because a lot of my MM apps have needed some WC functionality.

Actually, I'm removing a number of calls to this method in the next version of the Framework, so I don't mind changing the name of the function...actually, in the spirit of the unstoppable "Love Machine", Doug Hennig, I will simply rename it to "MMIsComObject()" to help avoid future collisions!

If you'd like to go ahead and renane the function now (and obviously rename all calls to this function), you'll be in line with the next version of the Framework.
