>This is an intriguing film. Like Momento it requires patience and concentration. I think it deserves an oscar for the wry placing of the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" near the end of the film when Tom Cruise is in the building lobby near the end of the film.

>I think I will remember this film for a long time. It is defintely a top 10 for 2001, but not a top 5.

Evan;
Patience and concentration I have but no desire to hear or see the Beach Boys (Beach Bums), near the end of a film or anywhere else! Thank you for the heads up on this.
While the Beach Boys were “famous” during the 1963-64 period, I could not stand them and still cannot. In the mid 1970’s, a newspaper article appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, which said, “If you want to hear the worse rock music ever performed and how bad American rock was during the mid 60's you only have to listen to the Beach Boy’s”!
When Ronald Reagan became President of the United States, he let it be known the Beach Boys were his favorite rock group. This caused a revival in the Beach Boys music created by a man who has Alzheimer’s disease. At least Glen Campbell got to sit in for a while and play guitar for the group. He knows which end of the guitar to hold and how to create music.
Sorry to be a critic - it is a matter of personal choice in this case. :)
Tom
