>>>Hi,
>>>
>>>I have an VFP6 (SP5) app that I am now testing on my new laptop running Windows XP Professional (512 MB Ram, 1.2 GHz - man is it fast...)

>>>messagebox title: "switch2.exe - No Disk"
>>>messagebox contents: "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive E:."

Alan,
Okay, now there will be a difference between your DE-environment and the EXE environment I guess. Well, is or is not, now start looking for something like LASTDRIVE = from the old "I don't know what OS". One thing I know by heart : various OSses react differently to this. Anyhow, when you allow the client (PC) to look for the drive (parts of) your app is on (dynamically I mean), it will scan the E: drive but finds nothing there (so : load disk please). In the end I guess it's your own app doing it, and the EXE working some differently from the DE ...
HTH,
