Aamir - I use FILEFIX (part of Norton Utilities - ver 8) for this problem. It works very well on the .DBF files themselves, but does nothing to repair .DBT or .FPT files (dBASE or FoxPro memo files). I realize not everyone has Norton Utilities at hand. I resort to an old (free) program called FPTFIX when I have a memo file problem. Don Smith
