I've had a very similar problem. I write some reports (created via frxs) to disk and then preview them in a window with a

modify command filename window tempwin noedit

and on anything larger than a few screens, the W2K machine will lock up tight forcing an End Task via the Task Manager. I've tried everything I can think of to no avail.
