Only time will tell. Some thoughts:
1. Sales are down and revenue has to be generated – quickly – to desolve the company and go on to other things.
An example of this for those that remember the “Adam Computer. A $10 million television campaign just before Christmas – which began on December 1 (forgot the year). The advertisement was aimed at “educating your child”. Many Adam Computers were sold and given by parents to their children. On December 26, Adam Computer declared bankruptcy and closed its doors. No software was available as promised, no service was available, you were just SOL. Excuse the acronym.
2. A business decision to entice the prospective user and allow a seamless upgrade to a higher priced product with more features.
We shall see what we shall see.
