I believe Unix has staying power as an operating system "for geeks, by geeks". I've worked in quite a few places over the last several years. And Unix was in several of them. But always in the same role. As the operating system that Oracle was installed on.
So I would never say that Unix is going away. But I think it only has a role in the Enterprise, and one that is not major in terms of numbers, anyways

>But would you admit that Unix (aka Linux etc.) around for 31 years has staying power. Considering that every new OS X Mac user is also using Unix, the number of Unix users is probably growing faster than ever right now. I would wager that the Unix slice of the OS pie is growing.
