I wouldn't use the application builder, except as a starting point, to show you how you can do some things. The reason is that as a framework, it is quite primitive.

Get a better framework; a commercial product might cost between US$ 100-500; good freeware frameworks are available as well, like CodeBook (this one is very good; I think it is freeware now).
