I'm trying to say do not get updated version. In your system directory check MSCOMCTL.OCX version. If it's newer than 6.0.81.77 (6.0.88.62 verified good too) search for an older one on your disk (hope there is). Anyway this might not be related with your resize problem but causes headaches in object browser drag&drop (credits to Jim Slater for finding it and saving me too).
