I'm not discussing what might cause it like record locking, validation code, time consuming code etc. I first think of database itself might have problems.
Close all and issue :

open database dbcname
validate database recover

Only doing this 'might' solve it.
(Suspect replace purely in command window might take ages too).
PS: I think dynamic* are innocent.
