I have just reinstalled VFP 5.0 on a W2K box, and am getting a Connot Open File error whenever Fox attempts to write to FoxUser.dbf. I have checked the obvious things like permissions, made sure its not read only, etc, but the error persists. I even deleted FoxUser so that it would be recreated, which it was, but the error remains.

In the FoxPro options (Tools|Options) goto the File Locations tab, and look for Resource File.
It may be that this is pointing to somewhere that the file is inaccesible
