Dreamweaver has been my favorite tool for about 2 years now. If you havent tried it yet, I highly suggest that you do so.. its truly a first class html editor.

As far as commenting on Visual Studio.Net InterDev and so on. the only suggestion that I can give you, is that the more generic the product the harder it might be to get working properly with VFP and VFP's dbfs' and so on.

Foxweb, west-wind, AFP (there are others) I just cant think of them now, are basicaly web servers - or web server addins which work with your own web server app (IIS etc) and do the communication between your html forms, and the DBF's you need the data from.

Going with a more generic ASP - or .NET or Interdev - odbc type connection between your dbf's and the html while it can be done, you do have to ask yourself why.. IF there are good products out there, which have already exposed the VFP type data to a web server..

Here is the suggestion, If your needs will never include other types of data (ie access database's) Oracle and so on. then go with one of the Fox specific connections to the web. If are are looking to get SQL server on the web , and access and who knows what other types of data, then head in the direciton of Interdev, ASP.Net etc.

Maybe this helps a bit.

But since I will build VFP COM objects and use VFP and SQL for datastores, do I really gain any benefit from VS.Net?

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
