Thanks to all.

The problem appears to lie in just which dynamic property one chooses to put ones function in. In mycase I choose DynamicAlignment with a container. For reasons that are beyond me it would not fire. Is now working from DynamicBackColor. Many hours later, Ho Hum!!!!
