This is strange, but I have a need to communicate with a Mainfram type computer using Telnet -(no good odbc or oledb drivers are avail. )

Can VFP communicate via winsock ? to a unix application, and then do things like screen scrapes, to send commands and keystrokes to get screens, and then somehow take the data from the screens into VFP memvars. ?

What I am attemping to do Since I have access to the telnet port, is just run one application this way, and get the data back (some datastream) or something and convert it to VFP type data on demmand...

Has anyone tried something so convaluted ? I might have to rethink the entire approach..
