Title:
Installing CM7 over CM6
I am installing cm7 over cm6. Thought I would install cm7 in a separate directory called "codemine7". Moved a project into codemine7 and recompiled it. Tried to start it and got the following message:
appApplicationSettings not found. Choose "prepare project for build" from CM menu and rebuild app/exe. Cannot find this in the CM pulldown menu. Where is it?
Should I have installed it over the top of CM6? i.e. in the "codemine" directory? If so, where is my "fall-back" strategy if we run into serious problems getting existing applications to run correctly?
Another question: This hasn't happened yet, but what if I need to modify a production system in vfp6 (developed before installing cm6)? I have been able to open those projects in vfp6 with cm6 installed, but am not sure how forgiving cm6 is with regard to making changes and recompiling those projects.
It seems to me that we tried to install a separate instance of vfp (maybe it was fp2.6) and it got snarled up somehow....don't remember what or how.
Thanx in advance. Bill
