I have been using IDS Mail in FoxPro running under Windows 98 with the value for the SMTP server set to the name of a dial-up account on the machine. This works great with the application displaying a dial-up screen and presenting the "do you wish to connect message" then connecting and running perfectly.

Under Windows XP this code presents an "unable to connect to SMTP Server" error message. It does not bring up the dial-up dialog.

It is possible to connect manually and then send e-mail by setting the SMPT server to its acutal address i.e. (SPTP.xyz.net).

Has anyone found a way to address a dial-up account under XP?
