You can use network search with automatic if found server you can see.For my suggest about network settinf on windows 98 as.
1.Set WORKGROUP Name as same as Workgroup Name On Server.
2.Included Network protocal name Netbuei
3.Tic open shear on network property
4.On server must be Open Shear Drive
