Hi Alejandro,

re: ProMatrix -- not so. When you Run application, you have the debugger available and can debug all aspects of your application, as all the runtime source is available.

What's confusing you is that in the Object Builder environment, the VPMAPP classes are those compiled into vpm.app, i.e., the development environment. This can be gotten around, too, with some effort: Frank Camp has created an oApp emulator that runs your ProApp/VPMApp in the OB environment also. There are a few infelicities we would like to work out before we release it to the public.

Another point re: debugging. In the development environment, in order to use the debugger on an error, go to PM-Admin/ProMatrix Security/Admin Tools and turn Error Handling off. This way you won't get the ProMatrix error handler resetting the environment when you have an error. Also: issue ON ERROR from the command window (you could do this from within your program that runs whenever you load a project) because VPM seems to issue ON ERROR * when you turn off VPM's error handling.

regards,

Hank

PS: if you have brought this up on the ProMatrix newsgroups 3 years ago you could have saved yourself a lot of grief. <s>

>Alejandro,
>Is the source included with Codemine? I'm asking because I've been using Promatrix for 3 years and some of it's classes come compiled, which prevents one from using the VFP debugger. I read your previous comments and like what I hear, but this is the main reason I'm looking elsewhere.
>Thanks.
